One moment please...

Introduction to Developing a Writing Habit

This two-hour lecture will provide the foundational concepts that we’ll work with in the four-week Developing a Writing Habit Class. We’ll discuss strategies for getting you into your seat, how to combine playfulness with discipline, and discuss the three components necessary for a writing career. We’ll then cover the basics of a process guaranteed to get you started generating raw material.

New students please take note: This class is a prerequisite for the more intensive, workshop-oriented four-week session. It can be taken independently for those wishing to jump-start their writing.

Returning students please note: This introductory session contains material that in the past was discussed on the first week of the class.

Instructor: Darlene Montonaro is the former Executive Director of the Poets and Writers League / The Lit and a writing teacher with over 30 years of experience. She is also a poet whose work has appeared in a variety of literary magazines including Calyx, Slipstream, Visions International, dPoetry Motel, Abraxas, and The Buddhist Poetry Review. Four of her poems were also anthologized in the book Illness & Grace: Terror & Transformation, published by Wising Up Press.
