In 2021, Washington jails admitted 124,247 people with 66% of that population awaiting trial. Human beings are innocent until proven guilty, but the cash bail system contradicts this basic tenet of our society. The people incarcerated awaiting trial are there because they don’t have the financial means to attain freedom like someone who has access to money and resources.

So far in 2022, your support has helped us post 940 bails with an average bail request of $5,000 You have helped people fight charges from a place of freedom, but we consistently have a waiting list and wish we could do more! This holiday season can you help us bring more people home for the holidays to fight their charges from a place of freedom?

We are a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, EIN 83-1096468. We currently operate in King, Snohomish, and Pierce Counties in Washington State. Donations to NCBF are tax deductible to the fullest extent permitted by law.
