Programs & Field Trips

Nature Walk Leader
Share your naturalist skills by signing up to lead or co-lead 1-3 hour nature walks on a subject you are most familiar with. We like to have two leaders, with the second one in an assisting role.
Program Assistant

Assist with indoor programs by performing the following duties, as needed: put out directional signs, set up space to accommodate the number of participants, greet and check in participants, provide Loudoun Wildlife Conservancy information, sometimes introduce the presenter, clean up and break down at the end of the program.

Conservation Advocacy

Zoning Advocate

Research local zoning ordinances as they relate to conservation and land use issues and/or attend monthly public input sessions of the County Zoning Ordinance Action Group. Conduct online research, interview experts, and/or review newspapers and other media to assess public awareness or response. Your written summary of the data will help the organization develop policy positions, guidance, or educational resources related to the topic.

Community Advocate

Engage your local friends and neighbors to advocate on issues that affect Loudoun’s streams, forests, wetlands, mountainsides and meadows.  Activities may include attendance at public input sessions and community meetings, writing emails to Board of Supervisors members, and drafting letters to editors. No experience necessary: This is a fun, hands-on way to voice your concerns and meet other conservation-minded people.
