How to Make Plantable Wildflower Seed Balls

How_to_Make_Plantable_Wildflower_Seed_Balls_Program_Guide_JGN_featured-img.jpg

In this 90-minute intergenerational program (for children of all ages and adults), families create a sustainable project — plantable seed balls — as they explore the ways that Judaism and nature intersect.

The program is ideal for Tu BiShvat, Earth Day, the community’s mitzvah and tikkun olam initiatives, or as part of an environmental justice program.

The guide includes:

  • Materials, room setup, and timing
  • Full script for the program leader, including:
  • Program activator about the Jewish value of shomrei adamah (“guardians of the earth”)
  • Video with Honi the Circle Maker story and discussion prompts
  • Video with demonstration of making plantable seed balls
  • How families create their own seed balls
  • Sharing and wrap-up
