The Call for Abstracts is now open for the Gallatin Water Science Symposium, an in-person event taking place February 19, 2025, at Montana State University’s Norm Abjornson Hall in Bozeman, MT. Please submit your abstract by January 8, 2025.
The goal of the Symposium is to connect scientists to one another and to water resource managers for a day of sharing research that can inform water stewardship in the Gallatin Watershed. All presentations highlighting original research or resource management challenges relevant to this goal will be considered. Abstracts for presentations across a wide range of topics are welcome, from water quantity, to quality, to human dimensions, to management, and beyond.
There are two formats available for presentations:
- 5-Minute “(en)Lightning” Talks: These will be short format, 5 minute talks and preference will be given to abstracts addressing water quality or water quantity. The traditional format is 20 slides that auto-advance every 15 seconds, but that structure will not be required. Selected presenters will pre-record their 5-minute presentations and recordings will be played at the meeting, but presenters are strongly encouraged to attend the meeting to answer questions.
- Posters: Posters will be a primary method for sharing research or other content at the meeting and all abstracts related to water in the Gallatin will be considered. There will be water quality- and water quantity-specific poster sessions, as well as a general poster session so that all topics can be accommodated.
Submission Guidelines:
- Submission is considered a firm commitment to participate, if accepted.
- Proposals received after January 8, 2025 are not guaranteed consideration.
