Volunteer Processing:

Volunteers interested in direct service (working directly with clients) must complete a self-paced 1.5 hour remote training provided by NWYS. Individuals wishing to volunteer with clients under the age of 18 must complete additional background screening. NWYS strives to keep the vulnerable populations that it serves free from harm which includes providing volunteers with cultural competence, harm reduction, and HIPAA training, to name a few. Combined with paperwork, this process usually takes around 2 hours in total. We appreciate your help in keeping our clients safe!
