One moment please...

Love working outdoors? Volunteers help monitor and maintain our conserved lands and trails. Passionate about our preservation efforts? You could work with our staff on conservation projects. Want to help raise awareness about the value of the unique open spaces we have here in the York region? We have outreach opportunities to share stories with our community about the importance of having places where we can connect with nature.

To volunteer as an individual, complete a Volunteer Questionnaire below. Groups are encouraged to email or call the office at 207-363-7400 for information about scheduling a volunteer workday. Thank you!

Our Land Stewardship volunteers help with a variety of tasks including improving trail accessibility and safety, removing invasive species, monitoring habitat, and more.
Our Preserve Ambassadors walk our trails and report back any issues that might impact a visitor's safety or enjoyment on a preserve, such as: downed trees or other trail impediments; compliance with pet rules; broken or missing trail signs; muddy conditions. If you're interested in becoming a Preserve Ambassador, please check the location(s) you are interested in helping with (read up on our preserves at https://yorklandtrust.org/explore/):
Our Outreach volunteers help support our work with the public in a variety of ways. If you'd like to get involved with this work, please check all of the activities that interest you:
We occasionally seek volunteers to help with light office work such as assisting with mailings, scanning/filing, photo archiving, and organizing materials. Support can also include helping to create or disperse educational materials and event promotions within the community.
