Join Elluminate to learn from Tamar Shwartz, CEO of Women's Spirit, about her work promoting the financial independence of women survivors of physical, sexual, emotional, and economic abuse in Israel while striving to effect social change from a feminist perspective and a commitment to gender equality and social justice.
Tamar’s presentation introduces the audience to economic abuse and its symptoms, explains the connection between abuse, control, and access to financial resources. In her talk, Tamar will describe the work of Women’s Spirit and its effort to promote financial independence and occupational rehabilitation as a tool to break the circle of violence and remove barriers within the legal system. Tamar will also review the impact of the current war in Israel and Gaza on women survivors of abuse.
