2023 Tutor Training Registration
Thank you for your interest in becoming a volunteer tutor for Oakland Literacy Council.
During your training, you will learn new skills and gain the confidence necessary to meet your student. You will also receive resources and an instructor's manual that is yours to keep. The one-time cost of the instructor's manual is $25.
The training occurs in two parts:
Part 1:
Choose a date for a two-hour foundational training called "Working with a Diverse Community of Adult Learners."
Part 2:
Choose a date for the type of tutoring you wish to do: English-as-a-Second-language, Reading, or Math.

Basic Reading Training on Tuesday, Jan. 23 and Thursday, Jan. 25 from 6:30-8:30 pm. This training is virtual.
ESL Training on Saturday, Jan. 27, 9 am - 1 pm. This training will be virtual.
Basic Math for U.S.-born learners - Monday, Jan. 22 AND Wednesday, Jan. 24 from 6:30-8:30 pm. This training is virtual.
