Salome was one of Jesus' disciples who was present at his crucifixion though others abandoned him, and she was one of the witnesses to the resurrection (Mark 15:40-41, 16:1). Though overlooked by the other three gospel writers, she is one of the first evangelists and an example for all women who follow Christ. 

Unfortunately, her experience is similar to women today who are also faithful disciples called to proclaim the good news, but too often overlooked.
