One-to-One and Small Group Tutoring

All of your information will remain confidential. This is a secure form and only representatives of Literacy NRV will be able to review this information in our database.

Unfortunately, students enrolled in a four-year university are not eligible for our free tutoring services. We encourage you to seek out services from your college's Student Affairs or International Affairs office.

 Como estudiante del Literacy NRV, me comprometo a:

• Tomar un pre-examen para determinar el nivel de mi conocimiento actual. 
• Dedicar un horario regular cada semana para clase o tutor. 
• Reunirme de 4 a 8 horas al mes con mi tutor o maestro de clase a través de la duración del programa. 
• Reunirme con mi tutor/ maestro en un lugar público o en línea. 
• Ser puntual y venir preparado para aprender. 
• Avisar de antemano al instructor cuando necesite estar ausente, cuando vaya tarde o tenga que irme temprano. 
• Pedir ayuda a mi tutor/ maestro si no entiendo las instrucciones. 
• Hacer arreglos para el cuidado de los niños. 
• Tomar un post examen cuando el Literacy NRV lo requiera. 
• Tener buena comunicación con el Literacy NRV y mi tutor/ maestro acerca de cualquier cambio de horario o mi información de contacto, cuando haya cumplido mis metas o cuando necesite dejar el programa. 

Yo entiendo que obtener un tutor o un lugar en una clase puede tomar hasta 3 meses y depende de la disponibilidad en clase o tutor así como mi historial de asistencia y nivel.

Yo entiendo que Literacy NRV me contactara con registración de clase u opciones de tutoría, y es mi responsabilidad el responder hasta una semana para hacerles saber si acepto o no. Entiendo que la falta de comunicación resultará en ser removido de la lista de espera.

Yo entiendo que si no tengo asistencia regular o estoy en contacto, puedo perder la oportunidad de estudiar con Literacy NRV. Entiendo que cada programa tiene su requisito de asistencia que debo seguir. 

Yo entiendo que pruebas y seguimiento de mi progreso son muy importantes para ayudar al Literacy NRV a mantener sus servicios gratuitos para estudiantes.

Yo entiendo que si conocen a alguien que quisiera los servicios a través del Literacy NRV, deben de ir a través del proceso de orientación y reunirse con un miembro del centro llamando al (540) 382-7262 para hacer una cita.

Yo entiendo que si no cumplo con estos requisitos puedo perder mi lugar en el programa.

As a Literacy NRV student, I agree to:

• Take a pre-test to determine my current skills
• Dedicate a regular time each week for class or tutoring
• Meet 4-8 hours per month with my tutor or class teacher for the duration of the program
• Meet my tutor/teacher at a public location or online
• Be on time and come prepared to learn
• Tell the instructor in advance when I need to be absent, arrive late, or leave early
• Ask my tutor/teacher for help if I don’t understand instruction  
• Arrange for childcare
• Take a post-test when requested by Literacy NRV
• Have good communication with Literacy NRV and my tutor/teacher about any changes in scheduling or my contact information, when I achieve my goals, and when I need to leave the program

I understand that getting a tutor or class placement can take up to 3 months and depends on class/tutor availability as well as my past attendance record and level. 

I understand that Literacy NRV will reach out to me with class registration or tutoring options and it is my responsibility to respond within 1 week to indicate interest. I understand that lack of communication will result in my removal off the waiting list. 

I understand that if I don’t have regular attendance and communication, I can lose the opportunity to study with Literacy NRV. I understand that each program has its own attendance requirements that I must adhere to.

I understand that testing and updates about my progress are very important to help Literacy NRV keep their services free for students.

I understand that if I know someone who wants services through Literacy NRV, they must go through the orientation process and meet with a staff member by calling (540) 382-7262 to make an appointment.  

I understand that if I do not meet these requirements, I can be withdrawn from the program.
