When the pandemic forced us to cancel the camp season last Spring, OFRC faced significant financial uncertainty. Without revenue from programs, we truly questioned our ability to make it to 2021. Thanks to the financial support of OFRC campers and community members, we were able to raise enough funds to cover our significant fixed and operational costs (such as insurance, required facility upkeep, and wildfire mitigation efforts) - and make it to 2021.
After a thorough operational review, we are excited to reopen for 2021 and are confident we can do this safely. However, we cannot do this without your help!
Even though we have to reduce our capacity per physical distancing guidelines and our operating costs have increased, we felt STRONGLY that it was not appropriate to raise rates for 2021. We know how much our community needs camp this summer and we want to make it as accessible as possible for families.
But because we are not raising rates, we are inviting you - if you are able - to make a contribution to OFRC/CIC to help cover the increased costs of added staffing, facility retrofitting, and equipment purchases, all of which are neccesary for a safe 2021 summer season.
Your financial support will directly provide us with the funds to:
- enhance sanitization of our bathhouses and communal spaces,
- retrofit the facility so that we can safely have more campers on site at a given time, and
- purchase equipment such as additional handwashing and handsanitizer stations.
We thank you for your consideration. If you typically make an annual contribution to OFRC/CIC during the summer or at the end of the year, we encourage you consider making your gift earlier this year, which will assist us with having a clearer picture of financial outlook in a year still filled with many uncertainites.
Alternatively, you may also contact Giving@FeatherRiverCamp.com and make a pledge which can be fulfilled later date this year.
We thank you so much for your support and consideration! Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions.
