As an article in Boston Globe stated at the end of March, “The rapid spread of COVID-19 is wreaking havoc on home health care workers and millions of disabled, ailing, or elderly Americans who consider them a lifeline — often the difference between living independently or in a nursing home.”
Despite a serious disruption in our routine operations due to the discontinuation of non-urgent surgical procedures and MD office closures, Community Nurse Home Care continues to put our patients first. We are still here! Our dedicated staff continue to care for patients in their homes.
When we are unable to be in the home, technology and innovation allow us to provide education and support to our patients. Our staff maintain a connection to each patient via telephone calls, Facetime, Zoom and other available video conferencing platforms. Knowing most insurances won’t reimburse for this type of supportive service, we continue with the goal of identifying early symptoms and problems, working with physicians to maintain wellness with each of our patients to keep them safe and to avoid unnecessary hospitalizations.
Your help and support will allow us to continue high quality care in these difficult and challenging times. Thanks to you we continue to care for those who really need us now and we are ready for patients recovering from Covid 19 in the near future.
Thank you for your support of Community Nurse! Stay well.
