2020 Conference Registration

Thank you for registering for the 18th annual James River Writers Conference, Saturday and Sunday, October 10 and 11, 2020, and pre-conference Master Classes, Friday, October 9, 2020. This year's conference will be hosted online! If you haven't already, please use this Registration Roadmap to help you navigate the elements of this registration with ease.

As a JRW Member, you will receive $50 off the non-member conference registration price, plus discounts on Master Classes, the monthly Writing Show, and other JRW events throughout the year. In addition, you'll be helping to build a strong community of writers in Central Virginia. We hope you'll join us ($45 per year), and then go ahead and register using member rates. Registration

The two-day rates include all conference events, on both Saturday and Sunday, Oct 10 and 11, 2020. One-day rates are offered for either Saturday or Sunday. Premium add-ons, including Friday Master Classes and Saturday/Sunday ShopTalk passes, are available for additional cost. If you haven't already done so, we recommend you use our Registration Roadmap to plan, before beginning this registration process. Note: Student rate only applies to students who are full-time high school students or enrolled in an accredited college or university as full-time students at the time of the conference in October 2020. You will be asked to submit evidence of your student status during the registration process. Early bird rates end July 31, 2020.

Please submit a copy of current-year transcript, your student ID, or a letter from your school's office verifying that you are (will be) a full-time student at the time of the conference in October 2019.
One-on-one meeting with a literary agent (Optional FREE Add-On)

If you have questions about whether the literary agent or writing coach is an appropriate match for your writing, please review their bios on One-on-Ones. Each attendee may only have one meeting with an agent and one with a writing coach. This option is FREE with purchase of a regular conference ticket. (Appointments with Cherise Fisher are now full.)

Pre-conference Master Classes (Premium Add-On)

Master Classes are offered on Friday, Oct 9, 2020. You can register for up to four Master Classes. Master Classes are offered at an additional cost and are not included in the base costs of your conference registration (unless you are an All-Inclusive member). ShopTalk Premium Add-On

Purchase a ShopTalk Pass to gain unlimited access to experts throughout the regular conference schedule, to get your burning questions answered. More about ShopTalk HERE.

Conference sponsorship and support

Whether or not you can attend the conference, we invite you to become a conference sponsor or supporter. For $500, you can sponsor a break-out session for the conference, which will include advertising on the JRW website and at the event. New this year, for $500 you can sponsor a breakout session with your book. For a $250 donation, you can sponsor a student or teacher's attendance at the conference with a conference scholarship. For a $100 gift, you can become a Friend of Literature.
