Donations for Youth Bicycle Education Project

Champaign Count Bikes is collecting donations for the purchase of ~40 bikes and a trailer to store and transport these bikes to bike education classes at schools, parks, and events held at the Kickapoo Rail Trail.

The board and leadership at Champaign County Bikes (CCB) has committed ourselves to increasing the amount of youth bicycle education occurriing in our community. The purchase of a fleet of quality, highly adjustable bicycles and a trailer together becomes a strategic tool needed to accomplish this goal. Already CCB is partnering with CU Safe Routes to School Project to train more League Certified Instructors and to hold bicycle education classes at area schools. And when the Kickapoo Rail Trail is complete from Urbana to St. Joseph, we will have a perfect venue to take students out for extended and safe rides.
