Where: Opacum Woods, Old Brook Circle, Sturbridge, MA
What: Install bench- at Perry’s Point, end of the white trail overlooking the pond. This will be in remembrance of P. Edward “Perry” Norris, a friend and supporter of Opacum from its earliest days, who helped create the Opacum Woods conservation area.
Directions: Take New Boston Road from Route 20 in Sturbridge, just east of the 131 intersection. Take your fourth right onto Audubon Way, and then your second left on to Old Brook Circle. The trailhead is at the end of the cul-de-sac. 42.1248088, -72.0779179
Parking: Park at trailhead on Old Brook Circle. Parking is not permitted along Forest Lane.
Notes: Bring water, sturdy close-toed shoes, layers for warmth, orange clothing for safety during hunting season. Also bring work gloves if you have them. If not, let us know and we can bring extra. Snacks will be provided.
