Community Farm Day: June 22, 2023

Join us Thursday, June 22nd, from 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM for a day of friendly collaboration on the Farm! We’ll wrap up spring plantings, harvest our earliest crops, and prepare our fields for the first burst of summer. You’ll work side-by-side with our farmers, learn our best practices by putting them into action, and directly support your community farm.

You’ll head home with a sample of the day’s harvest, some tired and happy muscles, and our sincere gratitude!

This event includes manual labor and plenty of time outside. However, we strive to offer a range of activities to accommodate everyone’s abilities and comfort levels. This is a family-friendly event.

Be mindful of the following:

This event takes place in rain or shine. Activities will be adjusted based on the weather, but dress for the weather and expect to get dirty.
We suggest wearing closed-toe durable shoes with long pants, layering your shirts/jackets, and bringing a hat, sunscreen, and sunglasses. We’d also recommend a change of clothes for your trip home.
We will provide a small snack or sample to highlight our seasonal produce, but we ask that you bring your own lunch and a reusable water bottle.
If you cannot attend, please let us know by emailing farmteam@pitneymeadows.org. The folks on our wait list will be happy to fill in for you!
We ask that you plan to arrive by 10:00 and stay until 3:00 out of respect for your fellow workers and our farmers. Thank you!

Cost: We ask for a modest donation to support this program and to ensure access for everyone who wants to participate. Please come even if you can't contribute in this way. We welcome everyone!

Note: If you are coming as part of a group or with family members, we ask that you submit one registration for each person who will attend, including any children older than 7 years. Children 7 and under do not need to register. This allows us to maintain the proper scale for each event. Thank you!

We suggest a donation of $10 - $20 to cover the cost of this event. Your payment at more than the suggested range will help support this community farm program and those participants who cannot contribute in this way. Thank you.
