Leadership Positions
  • Executive Director
    • The executive director will be someone who is ready to take on a great amount of responsibility this school year. They will work closely with Hillel staff members and the JGC Directors to make JGC a successful student group. The executive director will be responsible for organizing and communicating with chapter leads on a regular basis. They will be expected to organize a weekly call with the JGC Directors, meet one-on-one with Chapter Leads, and attend monthly council meetings.
  • Chapter Leads
    • Chapter leads are representatives from each Greek chapter who will act as the lead organizers and advocates for their respective chapters in JGC. Chapter leads are responsible for organizing the Jewish members of their chapter in a group chat and representing them in monthly council meetings. Chapter leads will create Jewish programming throughout the year for their chapter and meet regularly with the executive director(s) of JGC.
  • Programming Director
    • The Programming Director should be someone with experience in planning and executing events. The programming director will have a team of assistant programming directors to help make the JGC events happen. They will be responsible for organizing a weekly JGC programming call with the assistant programming directors as well as participate in weekly director meetings and monthly council meetings. With the help of the assistant directors, the programming director will play a major role in creating at least 2 JGC programs a month.
  • Programming Assistant Director
    • The programming assistant directors will work on a team with each other, led by the programming director. They will create most of the programming for JGC throughout the year. You do not need to have any experience in programming to apply for this position, as you will learn along the way. Programming Assistant Directors will have to be on a weekly programming call as well as attend monthly council meetings. 
  • Community Service Director
    • The Community Service Director will be responsible for organizing the committee of community service assistant directors. They should be passionate about community service and have an idea of various opportunities around Gainesville. The CS director will organize a weekly call with the cs assistant directors, as well as participate in a weekly call with the other JGC directors and monthly council meetings. 
  • Community Service Assistant Director
    • Community Service Assistant Directors will work together on a team, led by the community service director, to provide various volunteer opportunities for JGC members throughout the year. Anyone who has a connection to a volunteer opportunity in Gainesville is encouraged to apply for this position. CS assistant directors are expected to be on weekly CS calls and attend monthly council meetings.
  • Greeks to Israel Director
    • The Greeks to Israel Director should be someone who is passionate about getting students to Israel through programs such as Birthright and Onward Israel. Ideally, they will have recently returned from either program with UF Hillel. The Greeks to Israel Director will have a team of assistant directors who will create a new “Greeks to Israel” initiative. They will lead a weekly call with the Greeks to Israel Assistant Directors, as well as participate in a weekly call with the other JGC directors and monthly council meetings.
  • Greeks to Israel Assistant Director
    • Greeks to Israel Assistant Directors will help create a new “Greeks to Israel” initiative. They will work on a team, led by the Greeks to Israel Director, with the ultimate goal of getting as many Greek students at UF to Israel as possible through Birthright and Onward. Greeks to Israel Assistant Directors will attend weekly Greeks to Israel calls and participate in monthly council meetings. 
  • Outreach Director
    • The Outreach Director should be someone who is very organized with experience in social media. Their main responsibilities will be organizing the monthly council meetings, running JGC social media and tabling. They will have a team of assistant directors to assist them in these projects. Aside from the council meetings, the outreach director will lead weekly calls with the outreach assistant directors as well as participate in weekly director meetings.
  • Outreach Assistant Directors
    • Outreach Assistant Directors will work with the Outreach Director to plan monthly council meetings, run the JGC social media, and table on camous to promote JGC. Anyone who is interested in logistics planning is encouraged to apply for this position. Outreach assistant directors will help create the face of JGC online and on campus. They will participate in weekly meetings with the outreach director and be at the monthly council meetings which they plan.
  • New Member Director
    • The New Member Director should be a welcoming individual who will help new greek members feel comfortable in the Jewish Greek community. They will be responsible for a team of New Member Assistant Directors who create programming targeted at new members and engage with them individually. The New Member Director will lead a weekly call for the New Member Assistant Directors as well as participate in a weekly call with the other JGC directors and monthly council meetings.
  • New Member Assistant Director
    • New Member Assistant Directors will serve as the welcoming committee for new Jewish members of greek life. They will work on identifying new Jewish members and host programming that brings them into the JGC community. New Member Assistant Directors are expected to participate in weekly calls with the New Member Director and monthly council meetings.
