Part 3. Project costs

Please submit an outline of the estimated repair work costs
  1. Applications should include a one-third financial or in-kind contribution towards repair work costs from the applicant. For example, if the total cost is $9,000 you can apply for a $6,000 grant and contribute $3,000 yourself (which can be financially or in-kind).

  1. Please outline in your budget if your contribution is to be financial, in-kind, or a combination of the two.

In-kind contributions can include labour, planning/prep, transport costs, and machinery costs. If you are including in-kind contributions, please state the expected number of work hours.

      In-kind labour  $25/hour
      Mileage  0.83c/km
Use of personal machinery (e.g. tractor, quad bike, ute)  Up to $40/day

  1. For materials or equipment included in your budget, please provide quotes or an example of those costs.

  2. The minimum grant is $2,000 up to a maximum of $15,000 (including GST).

Hardship applications

In exceptional circumstances a landowner may submit an application citing hardship. The hardship criteria is intended to provide recovery support for covenants where:

  • Capability, or other circumstances outside a covenantor’s control affects their ability to protect or enhance the biodiversity or open space values within a covenant.

  • Situations where covenants require attention, but the landowner is unable to meet the required one-third contribution (financial hardship) and can provide sufficient supporting information to their QEII regional representative.

The landowner contribution of one-third may be reduced or 100% of project costs may be covered by the Auckland Council Grant for projects determined to meet the hardship criteria. If you are citing hardship, please state in your application if and how you are able to contribute to repair works.
