WHAT TO BRING:
Drinking water, lighter/matches, cooler for food (in case you can't light the propane refrigerator), bedding, (beds with mattresses and some blankets there) towels, flashlight, toilet paper, firewood (may run low during the season and suggested to bring some firewood purchased in Baraga County to avoid the risk of invasive species).
POINT OF VIEW RUSTIC CABIN
This protected natural area is open to the public for low impact recreational activities such as hiking and paddling. Your scheduled use of the cabins is exclusive but you may encounter other day use visitors.
There is outhouse for use by all visitors and no indoor plumbing. There is no electricity. The cabin has two bedrooms each with a single and double bed. There is a futon (full size bed) in the great room. There is also a futon in the guest room in the sauna. These have mattresses and there are some extra blankets. Each cabin is equipped with: three LED lanterns, small propane refrigerator, propane stove, tableware and cookware, and maps of area. There are buckets for lake water in the kitchen for washing and cooking but it is advisable to bring your own drinking water. We try to keep firewood in supply for the woodstove and sauna but this can run low during a busy season. Please consider bringing firewood for use preferably purchased in Baraga County to avoid the risk of invasive insects. Fishing is allowed in accordance with all state regulations.
