One moment please...

Submitters of the World Unite!

You’ve got a writing group and a critique group… why not a support group for submitting to literary magazines? In these four sessions, we’ll meet to compare notes, share our joys and frustrations, and support each other in submitting our writing far and wide. Each session will dive deep into one part of the process — researching literary journals, organizing a plan of attack, actually sending the work (!!), and decoding acceptances and rejections — as we build community and resilience with each other. Get motivated, get connected, and get your work out into the world!

Instructor: Trent Kay Maverick is an east-sider, radio dj, high tea enthusiast and cat person who reads for too many literary magazines — The CommonThe Masters Review, and Literary Cleveland’s own Gordon Square Review. Her essays have been published in The Washington Post and the Belt anthology Red State Blues: Stories from Midwestern Life on the Left, and her audio documentary “Goth Grows Up” was selected as a finalist for The Missouri Review’s 2021 Miller Audio Prize.

Details: Submitters of the World Unite! takes place Wednesdays August 25, September 8, September 22, and October 6 from 6:30-8:30pm remotely through Zoom.
