Small lots, such as the one you may own, are a big deal. The vast majority of landowners in this region have less than 10 acres. This land, wooded or not, is a vital source for all.
By enhancing wooded areas or creating natural areas on your lot, you can enjoy recreation, aesthetics, wildlife, and improved water quality. Owners of even just a few acres can make a positive difference in their environment through planning and implementing simple stewardship practices learned at The Woods In Your Backyard Workshop.
Topics will include:
• Forest Ecology
• Wildlife enhancement
• Woodland inventory techniques
• Tree & shrub identification
• Tree planting and care
• Invasive species control
• Developing goals and objectives
• Resources for your land
PLEASE NOTE: Harford Land Trust is committed to providing a safe and comfortable event experience. Per the latest guidance from the CDC, if you are not fully vaccinated against COVID-19, we ask that you plan to wear a mask during the event. HLT reserves the right to make changes to the event as needed according to public health and safety guidance.
Workshops will include some outdoor activities including traveling over uneven forest floors. For in person sessions please come dressed appropriately for outdoor conditions.
