April 21, 2024

THE LECTURE IN OLD CABELL HALL at 3:00 PM

Author and New York Times commentator David Brooks will deliver the Spring 2024 Scoper Lecture in Christian Thought entitled “Know Better: Strengthening the Bonds of Communal Life.” 

Brooks’s lecture will be followed by an on-stage conversation with Dr. Melody Barnes, Executive Director of the Karsh Institute of Democracy. 

The Porter's Gate will bring music throughout the afternoon.

THE CHARLOTTESVILLE WELCOME TABLE at 4:45 PM

Immediately following the lecture, all ticket holders will be invited to attend the outdoor CHARLOTTESVILLE WELCOME TABLE: an experience-centered communal reception of homemade pies and conversation, in the UVA Amphitheater (Rain location: Memorial Gym).
