The George Pocock Rowing Foundation, a non-profit, provides need-based youth rowing scholarships so more youth can row on the water as part of a team. Scholarship funds are awarded based on need AND the participant's ability to meet attendance and participation expectations.
GPRF funding is available for participation at five boathouses: Pocock Rowing Center, Mt. Baker Rowing and Sailing Center, Renton Rowing Center, Green Lake Small Craft Center, Vashon Island Rowing Club, and South Kitsap High School Crew. Occasionally the Pocock Foundation will provide need-based scholarship support to youth rowers participating in other NW boathouses (case by case basis and as funding permits). Partial and full scholarships are available.
This form may also be used to apply for scholarships provided by Olympia Area Rowing Association or South Eugene Rowing Club.
If awarded a scholarship, participants must:
- Attend 75% of practices
- Volunteer 5 hours per season
- Attend one community event per year.
