HELP SMALL FARMS and RANCHES to BENEFIT from REGENERATIVE and CONSERVATION-BASED PRACTICES

GOAL: Winter 2024-25: 20% Community Match = $35,000

STRATEGIC PROGRAMMING AND SUPPORT TO BOOST RURAL RESILIENCE and REGENERATIVE AGRICULTURE IN WESTERN COLORADO

This project will work to provide

1-Support for small farmers and ranchers to navigate and succeed in identifying and obtaining federal and other funds to improve conservation and efficiency practices on their operations.

2-Pathways to position small farmers and ranchers to maximize conservation outcomes and operator-benefits, through opportunities for revenue, income or other support to improve and maintain land, soil, habitat and watershed health.

3-Tools, resources and technical support for small farmers and ranchers to monitor and report progress as they apply for and obtain grants, implement new practices, and maintain those or current beneficial practices; and to be able to aggregate that data across several or numerous farms and ranches that are participating in such practices.

GOAL: 20% Community Match - $35,000

$6,000 - One season of a grant navigator half-time staff

$3,000 - Annual regenerative ag stipend for 1 farmer

$1,750 - 5% of Winter 2025 Community Goal

$350 - 1% of Winter 2025 Community Goal
