FMFCU Foundation Food Insecurity Fund

FMFCU Foundation has joined the fight against food insecurity. It is estimated that 1 in 10 Americans suffers from food insecurity, a number that has been increased due to the ongoing pandemic.

Food insecurity refers to USDA’s measure of lack of access, at times, to enough food for an active, healthy life for all household members and limited or uncertain availability of nutritionally adequate foods. Food-insecure households are not necessarily food insecure all the time. Food insecurity may reflect a household’s need to make trade-offs between important basic needs, such as housing or medical bills, and purchasing nutritionally adequate foods.

Your donation will help local food banks in feeding our neighbors. The Fund is initially supporting three organizations across the region: Philabundance, Chester County Food Bank, and Delaware County Interfaith Food Assistance Network (DIFAN). 100% of all proceeds will go to these organizations.

As a special thank you for donating, you will recieve a child's size Berenstain Bears Financial Literacy Program® face mask from Franklin Mint Federal Credit Union with a minimun donation of $10.
