Cleveland Sews: Sew-A-Thon - MAY 4, 2024 VOLUNTEER REGISTRATION

Thank you for participating in the Cleveland Sews Community Sew-A-Thon on Saturday, May 4, 2024 as gather at St. Vincent Charity Community Health Center (on the 6th floor) to transform the inpatient drapes that hung in the hospital into reusable tote bags for their Mission Kitchen + Pantry program!

The Community Sew-A-Thon is a city-wide participatory event around an emerging practice called Social Manufacturing. It's a mass individualized paradigm where community and social collaboration creates new forms of value for neighborhoods. We're putting a new lens of manufacturing and the power of social capital - exploring how our relationships and networks can reskill our communities and build circular economies in our city.

Sign up as a sewist or non-sewist! Our collabortive manufacturing process makes room for everyone to learn and grow together! Come for the whole and day and collaborate with a whole team of enthusiasts or share your manufacturing muscle for a shift. Our goal is to make 500 bags, but our BHAG (Big Hairy Audacious Goal)  is 2,000 bags! Let's define what social manufacturing can mean to our city.

All volunteers are required to complete this form. All responses are strictly confidential and will not be sold. Any demographic information is voluntarily submitted and used in de-identified aggregate numbers to support program development and grant writing activity.

Please don't hesitate to let us know if there are any questions.

We are SEW excited to stitch the social fabric of our community with you!

Leading up the event, we will have smaller events - we like to call them Community Hubs- a way for you to be a part of the entire process of social manufacturing! We'll be sure to send that information your way!
