Do you want to learn what birds are in your backyard? Do you want to help scientists take a snapshot of their populations? Take a guided walk in the park while learning about the birds to participate in the Great Backyard Bird Count. Naturalists will share identification tips, species adaptations, and the importance of providing native habits; all while participating in community science.
No prior knowledge is required. These small outings are geared towards ages 10 years and up. Meet us at the entrance to the Burien Community Center to check in before our program. We'll slowly venture throughout the park exploring the tree line and neighborhhoods of Dottie Harper Park. There are some hills, but we'll go at a slow pace along the trail and the paved sidewalks.
