Consider a donation to our Youth Bike Education Project.

This year's Bike Month funding project is to advance Bicycle Education with our youth by purchasing a special fleet of bicycles. These bikes are highly adjustable, because kids don't come in one size.

We need a lot of these bikes so we can work with a whole classroom of kids. Plus a trailer so we can transport them to the next school, park, or bike class.

Donations are not required to participate in Bike to Work Day or any of the other Bike Month events. But it takes a donation this year to get a t-shirt. Donations can be made at any of the CU Bike Month 2016 events during the month of May, or by visiting the Champaign County Bikes website. You can also make a donation as a part of this registration process.

Our Bike Month t-shirts this year are advancing the idea of being a part of a area-wide crew of people who help other people - especially kids - get out and bike more.

2016 Adult shirt 217 is our area code and the 217 Bike Crew is an informal way of identifying yourself as an area bike rider, especially one who is ready to help other younger cyclists get out and ride safely!

We are really excited about the Youth Bike Education Project! The kids will be excited too.

We want to encourage all of you to be involved and to be generous. Our suggested donation is $25, which is about what one wheel of our new education bikes will cost. Choose whatever level works for you, and be generous if you can. (Your gift is tax-deductible, receipts will be auto-generated.) Thanks!

Note: Last year, CU Bike Month 2015 participants donated over $11,000 in our "I helped kickstart the Kickapoo Rail Trail!" campaign! Construction on the KRT is now underway between Urbana and St. Joseph. The generosity of our local bicycle community is wonderful and is being noticed throughout Champaign County and beyond.

If you made a contribution to our Youth Bike Education Program, then let us know your shirt size. You can pick up your shirt at Urbana's Market at the Square any Saturday in May or at the Bike to Work Day Welcome Station you selected above. If you made one donation here on behalf of your whole family/work group, check Family/Group and then add a note below with the sizes you need. We can provide 1 shirt/$25 worth of donations for donations of $100 or more. (You can specify YouthMed or YouthLarge for kid's shirts.)
