Weather and Gear
Snowshoes may be required (they are available for loan from local libraries). Participants should be comfortable hiking or snowshoeing up to 3 miles on moderate terrain.
Participants are expected to provide all of their own gear to stay warm and safe during fully-outdoor field sessions, walking/hiking/snowshoeing and making frequent stops to study tracks and sign. We will adjust our format, locations and indoor/outdoor split in light of extreme cold or blizzard conditions.
Program Eligibility
Registration is currently open to residents of the Cold Hollow to Canada region and adjacent towns. If you live outside of the region, please email us first to inquire about registering.
Refund Policy
Program fees are refundable (minus a $25 administrative fee) if cancellation notice is given more than 30 days before the first program date. Cancellation notice should be given by email to sophie@coldhollowtocanada.org. If you withdraw your registration within 30 days of the first program date (November 10, 2024), the program fee will only be refundable in the event that someone else signs up in your place. We will keep a participant waitlist but make no guarantees that we can fill your spot.
Cancellation & Rescheduling
We reserve the right to cancel, postpone, or reschedule any part of this program for any reason. Likely reasons would be instructor illness or injury, or adverse weather conditions on a scheduled field session date.
In the event of a postponement due to instructor availability or weather conditions, we will work with participants to reschedule the field session to a new date within 3 months of the originally scheduled date. In the event that an alternative field date cannot be scheduled, participants may be offered equivalent content in the form of an online classroom session, a recording, or another format.
In the case of a full program cancellation by the provider, participants will receive a full refund for any cancelled portions of the program.
