The Macks Center for Jewish Education invites you to learn, engage, and experience Ethiopian Jewish Culture during the Jewish Ethiopian Holiday - Sigd.
Meet Rabbi Dr. Sharon Zaude Shalom who was born in Ethiopia and immigrated to Israel in 1982. Now Rabbi Shalom is a prominent scholar and lecturer, a rabbi of an Ashkenazi congregation in Kiryat Gat, and a father of 5 children. He will talk about his family story, the Ethiopian Community in Israel, and about the Sigd holiday – which is an official Israel holiday.
