P.A.W. Express Adoption Events

To help match you with the right volunteer opportunity, we have listed specific descriptions below to choose from when volunteering for P.A.W. Express adoption events. Please note that P.A.W. Express volunteers must be at least 18-years old (16 and up with parent, guardian or leader).
Dog Wranglers: Big dogs, small dogs. We never know what we are going to get when the P.A.W. Express heads out on the road. We need volunteers who are comfortable handling dogs and can react when a dog might be stressed out. Volunteers should come prepared for outdoor work that may include hot sunny days and chilly, rainy days. The dogs don't ever seem to mind!
Cat Guardians: While our cats don't ever freely roam on the van, we need attentive volunteers to make sure the "cat room" is safe and secure. Hundreds of people visit the van each event and a lot of little fingers and hands are poking through the cage doors. We need volunteers to watch out for our feline friends, keep cages shut and keep an eye on everything that goes on inside the van. Volunteers will help assist with showing the cats to potential adopters and ensure there is a safe environment for the kitties. And, the van is heated and has AC, so you will be as cool as a cat or warm as a kitten the entire event!
People Engagers: If you are a people person who loves animals but you just can't handle a dog on a leash or kitties make you sneeze, we need you! We have an info table at all P.A.W. Express events and need volunteers to hand out flyers, promote shelter pets who are back at the shelter, answer questions and be a friendly greeter. Don't worry, we don't expect you to know everything the first time around. There is always a lead volunteer there to help out! But as you work more events, you will learn all the ins and outs of the organization and will soon be a pro.
Event Leads: Looking to expand your volunteering with Prince William SPCA? We are in need of 2-3 volunteers to train to be event leads for our P.A.W. Express mobile adoption van events. Volunteers should be familiar with the van and have volunteered several times in the past few years. Training will be provided and you will shadow a current lead for one event before taking on the new role.
P.A.W. Express Van Drivers: Do you have your CDL or perhaps own an RV or large van or truck? And are you looking to use those skills to help animals? Prince William SPCA is seeking drivers with excellent driving records to drive the van to parades, community events and adoption shows.
