Instructor Contract
Please review and agree to the instructor contract points before scheduling an appointment with staff to finalize your contract.
  • The instructor and Thomas Dunn Learning Center (TDLC) will touch base within two days of the class, and either party must notify the other if they need to reschedule or cancel a class.
  • The instructor will arrive for each class session with sufficient time to prepare before class.
  • The instructor will record attendance and feedback using the sheet provided by TDLC and upon completion of the class or series the instructor will turn these in.
  • The instructor will provide all the material needed for the class themselves unless otherwise arranged with TDLC.
  • The instructor does not have any claim to student work or TDLC’s curriculum as intellectual property. All curriculum will be copyright free and research data will belong to the originator.
  • TDLC will promote the class through social media and to the best of our ability. However, we can not guarantee attendance.
  • In addition to promoting the class themselves, the instructor may need to make themself available for TDLC promotional activity.
  • Compensation is per course, at a rate or trade decided by TDLC.
  • The instructor is acting as a contractor, and not as an employee of the Thomas Dunn Learning Center, and is thus not entitled to benefits beyond the fee for the class.
  • An IRS 1099 form will be provided at the year’s end for your tax purposes.
  • The instructor will avoid compromising any student's mental, physical, and/or emotional well-being. Incident and/or accident reports need to be completed immediately with TDLC staff.
  • All instructors will follow the Facility Use guidelines. If any damage is done to the building as a direct result of the course being taught, the instructor is liable and payment may be withheld.
  • TDLC reserves the right to withhold compensation in the event of the instructor's failure to adhere to the terms of this contract.
