As part of the volunteer process, we require a fee of $25 for CSER/Student or Court-ordered volunteers to help offset the costs of supervision, administrative processing, training materials, applicable background check fees, your volunteer uniform, volunteer program maintenance, and other costs that leave a footprint in our finances so more can go toward caring for the pets. We hope it is a small price to pay for wagging tails, sloppy kisses, purrs, and warm feelings every time you volunteer!
Students requiring supervision and evaluation for hours completed are required to pay this fee for each semester they enroll.
Volunteers also receive 10% off all purchases in our retail store in addition to continued educational opportunities at Lynchburg Humane Society.
