2022 Conference Registration

You can use this form to register for one or two days of the in-person 20th annual James River Writers Conference taking place in Richmond, Virginia, October 8 & 9, 2022, and/or to register for online pre-conference Master Classes, Friday, October 7, 2022. Proof of Covid Vaccination is required for in-person conference registration, and you will be asked to upload a scan or picture of your vaccination card. You might want to have that handy before you start.

Pre-conference Master Classes - ONLINE ONLY

Master Classes are offered online on Friday, Oct 7, 2022, in three time-slots. They are priced individually and are not included in your conference registration (unless you are an All-inclusive member).

You may purchase online Master Classes even if you are not able to attend the in-person conference on October 8 and 9 in Richmond, Virginia.

Master Classes will be held via the Zoom platform and will offer participants an opportunity to ask questions and interact with the class instructors. Once registration closes, we will send Master Class registrants the Zoom link(s) to join the Master Classes you have signed up and paid for.

Bonus! Your Master Class registration will include access to the recording and chat capture following the close of your class.

Registration - In-person Conference at the Greater Richmond Convention Center
  • The two-day rates include all conference events, including boxed lunches and light breakfast foods, on both Saturday and Sunday, Oct 8 and 9, 2022.
  • One-day rates include a boxed lunch and light breakfast food for one day.
  • The student rate only applies to students who are full-time high school students or enrolled in an accredited college or university as full-time students at the time of the conference in October 2022. Proof of enrollment is requested, below.
  • Consultations for first pages, synopses, query letters, and website reviews are an additional fee.

Volunteer Tickets

Thank you so much for volunteering for the 2022 Conference. We couldn't do it without you!

Volunteer hours have a Tier 1, Tier 2, or Tier 3 designation, as defined below:

  • Tier 1 - 20 hours or more, $150 off
  • Tier 2 - at least 10 hours, $100 off
  • Tier 3 - between 5-10 hours, $50 off

Select the applicable rate based on the tier level that corresponds to your role. You are, of course, welcome to pay more than the amount listed by entering any amount in the open field at the end of the list. We appreciate your generosity!

Please submit a copy of your current-year transcript, your student ID, or a letter from your school's office verifying that you will be a full-time student at the time of the conference in October 2022.
New in 2022! Professional Consultations

We are offering 15-minute personal, one-on-one consultations with experts on your query letter, first page, synopsis, and/or your website. You may choose up to four consultations for an additional $25 each. You must be attending at least one day of the conference to book a consultation. For more information, see our Consultation Page.

Dietary and accessibility needs

On both days of the conference, we will be serving boxed lunches that include options for vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free diets. Please let us know, below, if you would like us to reserve one of these options for you.
