Finetuning Your Project Through Feedback - August 2023

Using Liz Lerman’s Critical Response Process as a framework, you will have the opportunity to have a number of your poems, essays, short stories, or experimental pieces critiqued. Separate from a creative writing workshop that is generative, this workshop will focus on works-in-progress that you would like feedback on from people who may or may not be familiar with your writing or the genre in which you write.

The goals for this workshop are to (1) study your own and your community’s writing to enhance an appreciation for a variety of genres; (2) collectively define craft elements and discuss your own and your community’s work in the context of craft; (3) reflect on the success and challenges of craft in your own and your community’s work; (4) moderate your own feedback sessions; (5) engage in weekly free writing.
