Primary Ambassador Board Member Roles & Responsibilities
- Financial Commitment: Ambassador Board members will make a financial commitment to Friends of the Children-Los Angeles in the amount of $1,000 annually. This can be met by securing event sponsorships, peer-to-peer fundraising, soliciting support for Ambassador Board fundraisers, and purchasing event tickets, soliciting prizes or auction items, or making personal contributions (including employer donation matching).
- Meeting Attendance: Ambassador Board members will attend at least 80% of the Ambassador Board meetings and attend special meetings as scheduled. Regular meetings are held Wednesdays at Friends of the Children-Los Angeles or via Zoom from 6:00-8:00 PM quarterly.
- Fundraisers: Ambassador Board members will support Ambassador Board fundraising events and peer-to-peer fundraisers.
- Social Media: Ambassador Board members will share @FriendsLA social media posts or mention @FriendsLA at least four times per year.
- Events: Ambassador Board members will support Ambassador Board fundraising events and peer-to-peer fundraisers.
- Additional Involvement:
- After a year of service on the Ambassador Board, members have the opportunity to participate on a Friends LA committee and report back to the Ambassador Board. Committees include: Development, Strategic Planning, Finance.
- Ambassador Board members are encouraged to participate in other events throughout the year by volunteering or attending Friendsgiving, Family2Family and Friends LA Community events such as PRIDE, Black History Month, Latino Heritage and AAPI Heritage celebrations.
- Invite colleagues and personal networks to:
- Attend and participate in fundraising events
- Participate in annual drives (school supplies, holiday gift drive, etc.)
- Volunteer
- Invite Friends LA to speak to community groups you are involved with, during your employee giving campaigns, and other interested groups.
