2023 Visual Fringe Artists Application

Hello and welcome! Thank you for your interest in our festival. We cannot wait to see your art!

*ATTENTION ARTISTS!! Please complete the following application. It must be completed and paid for your space to be saved. This is an unjuried gallery so we are taking art on a first come, first served basis. When we have all the art we can fit in the gallery, we will take the application down and will not accept any more art. So apply early to reserve your spot! We are often full by mid March.


See guidelines below:

* Application must be completed in full (including contact information, titles, mediums, prices, and payment).
* All work must be brought to the Orlando Shakespeare Theater for drop off on either Friday, May 12th from 5pm-7pm, or Saturday, May 13th from 12:30pm-2:30pm. Artwork must have the requested information tag attached to the back and follow the hanging guidelines.

* We will not accept AI generated images or work.

 

*Application fees are on a sliding scale. If you have questions about your payment tier, please email before you submit (visualfringe@orlandofringe.org).

If submissions are in different tiers, the higher price tier will apply.

-For submission(s) priced from $0 to $69.99, the application fee is $15 for one, $20 for two, $25 for three.
-For submission(s) priced from $70 to $299.99, the application fee is $30 for one, $35 for two, $40 for three.
-For submission(s) priced $300 to $500, the application fee is $40 for one, $45 for two, $50 for three.

-Submissions priced above $500 will not be accepted.

***Please note, about 85% of artwork sold in past years was priced $200 or less.***

*NOTE*- Please make sure that all 2-D work submitted has a hanging wire! No other form of hanging can be accepted.
Any art that is intended to be hung, cannot weigh more than 10 lbs. We cannot take art that does not meet these requirements.

Paying at the time of submission is the only way to reserve your space in the show and have your application go through. *We will not be accepting payment at drop-off.* Please email before applying if you do not have any way to pay on-line. There are no refunds for not following the directions in this application.

Actual artwork(s) must be dropped-off between the hours listed above to be taken.
Any artwork(s) submitted/dropped-off after the deadline will not be considered. We cannot provide refunds.
Drop off for all submissions is in the lobby of the Orlando Shakespeare Theater,
812 E. Rollins Street, across the parking lot from the Orlando Museum of Art.

Artist Agreement

Please take the time to read and initial below.

1. The Artist hereby warrants that he/she/they created and possesses unencumbered title to the artwork(s) and that their description is true and accurate. AI generated images/work are not accepted.
2. Proper Presentation of Artwork: All artwork(s) must be gallery ready, meaning (if two dimensional) matted, glassed, framed, and a sturdy hanger wire on back. Framing does not apply to paintings on stretched canvas, but hanger wire does apply. We cannot accept art with wet paint. Please specify if three-dimensional work.
3. Uniqueness: All work submitted to the 2023 Visual Fringe/Orlando International Fringe Theatre Festival must be work that has been created within the last two years prior to this exhibition, and must not have been shown in the Visual Fringe at another time.
4. Duration of Consignment: The artist and OIFTF agree that the initial term of consignment for the artwork(s) is to be the duration of the Orlando International Fringe Theatre Festival (May 16 - May 29 2023), and that the artist does not intend to request the return of the artwork(s) before the end of this term.
Take down location: Orlando Shakespeare Theater Center, 812 E. Rollins Street
Take down date and time: Monday, May 29th 2023 (Memorial Day), between 12pm (noon) and 2:30pm, any unsold artwork must be picked up at that time.
Important: All unclaimed artwork will become the property of OIFTF immediately after the pick-up deadline at 2:30pm.
5. Transportation Responsibilities: Packing and shipping charges, insurance costs, other handling expenses, and risk of loss or damage incurred in the delivery of artwork(s) from the artist to the exhibit location, and in the return to the artist, shall be the responsibility of the artist.
6. Commissions: OIFTF will receive no (0%) commission on the sale of artwork. The artist shall receive 100% of the listed price of the artwork sold. Artists will receive payment for artwork sold via mailed check that is sent after the completion of the festival.
7. Shipping sold artwork: It is the responsibility of the artist to ship and ensure all sold artwork to the buyer if such an occurrence takes place. We tell buyers art will not be shipped, unless the artist recieves approval by us prior.
8. Documentation: Artist must completely fill out application, listing artwork title, medium, size, and price. Artist is responsible for attaching this easily identifiable information to the back of the work. This must be completed before drop off. Please print and use the identification labels that will be emailed to you. The title and price of artwork cannot be changed after gallery tags are printed. You will be told via email this date.
9. Loss or Damage: OIFTF takes no responsibility in any way for lost, stolen or damaged artwork(s) or property. OIFTF does not ensure the artist’s work(s) in any way. Artist exhibits all work at his/her/their own risk.
10. Copyright: It is the artist’s responsibility to ensure and protect the copyright of his/her/their own artwork.
11. Modifications: All modifications to this agreement must be in writing and signed by both parties. This agreement constitutes the entire understanding between the parties hereto.
12. Jury: The Visual Fringe is not juried, however, due to space restrictions, there is a possibility that not all work may be accepted for display. This will be determined on a first come, first served basis. Art may be turned away if it is deemed hateful to a group of people.
13. Since artists are submitting 3 works, we guarantee that 2 pieces will be shown (either in the Shakespeare Theater or the Orlando Museum of Art), the 3rd may be reserved to fill space once other pieces are sold. All reserved artwork will be stored in a safe location. As with the main exhibit, OIFTF takes no responsibility in any way for lost, stolen or damaged artwork(s) or property. OIFTF does not ensure the artist’s work(s) in any way. Artist exhibits all work at his/her/their own risk.
14. Artist must ensure that the artwork can be hung (if 2D). Art to be hung cannot exceed 10 lbs. If the weight of the artwork exceeds 10 lbs., the artist must ask the Visual Fringe Producer about an exemption and provide an appropriate display for the piece. Work that is not able to be secured to the wall/pedestal will not be displayed due to safety concerns.
15. Governing Law: The laws of the State of Florida IN WITNESS shall govern this Agreement whereof the parties hereto have signed this Agreement as of the date first set forth above.
