LICENSES
Tags for 2023 have not yet been delivered to us. Expect delays in receiving your 2023 tags.
Licenses are required by local ordinance. They are valid for a calendar year after issue and require a valid rabies certificate to register.
RABIES VACCINES
You must provide a valid rabies certificate to receive a pet license. Please upload a clear photo or scan of the rabies certificate at the bottom of this form. Your pet's tag is not appropriate proof of vaccination. The date the vaccine was given and the date it will be due again must be visible on the rabies certificate.
Tennessee State Law § 68-8-102 requires that all dogs and cats over 6 months of age must be vaccinated against rabies.
A rabies vaccination must be administered by or under the supervision of a veterinarian. A valid rabies certificated issued by the veterinarian administering the vaccine must be given as proof, as defined in the state codes
PRICES & MUNICIPALITIES
HES provides pet licenses for owners residing in:
Unincorporated Hamilton County
$5 for all dogs eligible for rabies vaccines
Soddy Daisy, Collegedale, Ridgeside, Signal Mountain, Walden
$5 for altered (spayed/neutered) dogs and cats
$10 for unaltered dogs and cats
City of Chattanooga, Red Bank, Lakesite:
