| FreedomCares/Cares4SW Health Disparities Initiative |
Reduce health disparities in Southwest Detroit: Help out at a community health event: set up, tear down, interpret or translate, data entry, and more. |
| Board of Directors Subcommittees |
Subcommittee members are not board members, but these roles allow volunteers to get familiar with the organization and guide its decision making. Subcommittee roles allow volunteers to prepare to take on a board of directors position in the future. |

Organize a supplies drive to help meet the needs of our residents. Get in touch with our team to learn what we have a need for at this time. |

At Freedom House Detroit, every dollar raised goes directly to providing crucial services like shelter, legal assistance, healthcare, and education. Host a fundraiser to help your friends, family, or professional networks make an impact. |

| Meal Pickup & Drop Off |
We are seeking a dedicated Meal Pickup and Drop-off Volunteer to join our team and support our community meal program in partnership with the local Salvation Army.

| Annual Event Committee |
Committee volunteersparticipate in different aspects of event planning, including decorations, entertainment, day of coordination, raising awareness, or helping engage our sponsors.

| Outdoor Beautification Projects |
Outdoor Decorating & Beautification Volunteers can get involved in a variety of ways, such as participating in community clean ups, planting flowers, decorating for the seasons, and supporting our team with outdoor maintenance projects.

| Write Welcome Cards |
Volunteers, particularly groups with young people, assemble welcome cards to give to our residents. These cards help supporters connect directly with our clients and help build community support.

| Relief Kit Assembly |
Engage with your community by assembling relief kits that help our clients, particularly our new arrivals, regain a sense of confidence and dignity. After not having self care and hygiene items for a long time, these supplies are a great first step towards becoming comfortable in a new community.
