Resistance Writing

As the bumper sticker says, “If you’re not outraged, you’re not paying attention.” We live in challenging times and many of us feel called to express our despair, grief, fury, and confusion.  We’ll briefly explore how writing is prompted by and provokes social change, then compose our own works through several exercises. Participants will come away with several new drafts. Writers of all experience levels welcome. Participants are asked to approach this workshop with tolerance for differing worldviews.

Laura Grace Weldon is the author of three books, the latest a poetry collection titled Blackbird. She was named Ohio Poet of the Year for 2019. She lives on a small farm where she works as a book editor and marginally useful farm wench. Her writing appears in mainstream as well as literary publications. Laura’s workshops emphasize respect for each writer’s voice.   lauragraceweldon.com
