Call for Artists - Not So Silent Night Featured Artist Show

Each December, REACH Studio Art Center hosts A Not So Silent Night, an annual community and fundraising event. 2024 marks the 21st A Not So Silent Night celebration and we are looking forward to hosting a festive event filled with refreshments, food, performances, a silent auction, and the Featured Artist Exhibition. Thanks to the generosity of local artists and businesses this event has raised over $15,000 in past years to support REACH's mission of providing equitable access to arts programming in the greater Lansing area. This year's event will be hosted on Saturday, December 7, 2024.

An important part of this annual event is the Featured Artist Exhibition which is a group show featuring the work of regional artists. Currently REACH is seeking artists from around Michigan with new or recently created artworks to apply to be part of this annual gallery exhibition. Please submit this form no later than June 15 to be considered for this year's Featured Artist Show.

Finished art pieces, prepared for hanging, must be delivered to REACH by October 23 and the show will be in the gallery from November 1-December 7, 2024. All artwork must be available for sale and the purchase price will be split 50/50 between the artist and REACH. Selected artists may also provide prints to be sold in the REACH "store" during the duration of the exhibition.

The Selection Process: The REACH A Not So Silent Night Committee, comprised of REACH staff, board, and community members, will select artists for the event. Curatorial discretion will guide the selection process, considering quality, cohesion among artworks, suitability for the REACH community, and gallery capacity.

Artist selection will be based on the ability to agree to the following criteria:

Artists commit to giving a brief artist talk at REACH on either 11/7 or 11/14.
Artists will receive two complimentary tickets to the NSSN event on 12/7 -- attendance is strongly encouraged.
Artwork may be included in the exhibition that were not included in the submitted images, as long as they are consistent with the quality and nature of the work submitted and comply with the linked Content Policies and Guidelines.
All artworks must be made available for sale, artist retains 50% of purchase price, and 50% will go to REACH to support programming.
Artwork must arrive ready to hang/display and be delivered to REACH by Oct 23 along with a completed inventory/price list.
Artwork will display at REACH until Dec 7th event. Unsold pieces must be picked up between December 9-13.
