2024 Women's Swiftwater Rescue Course Scholarship Application Copy

All applications will be anonymized and reviewed by impartial board members from the underwriting organizations. Scholarships will be awarded based on the answers to the questions below.

Applications will be accepted from May 1st to May 15. 

All applicants will receive notification of their application status by June 1. While initial selection results will be communicated by then, please note that there may be opportunities for additional placements if selected candidates are unable to attend the course.

Course Dates: July 6 - 7, 2024

This course is taught by Black Fox Rescue Institute Instructor Lindsay Nunes, and is proudly underwritten by Snake River Fund, Women in the Tetons (formerly known as Jackson Hole Babe Force), and Teton County Search and Rescue.

Recipients of the Scholarship will be required to bring:

  • A drysuit (rental information will be provided)
  • Synthetic layers
  • Type 3 or 5 PFD with whistle
  • Lightweight helmet
  • Hard soled, easy draining shoes
  • Lunch, snacks, and water for each day
  • Extra warm clothes
  • Any personal rescue gear that you currently have (throw bags etc.)

Missions of Underwriting Organizations

Snake River Fund - To promote stewardship of and recreational access to the Snake River watershed in Wyoming, with an emphasis on partnerships, education and public outreach.

TCSAR Foundation - To support TCSAR through direct volunteer support, community education and advocacy.

Women in the Tetons - To empower all women to seek adventure in the mountains.

In order to provide this opportunity to our community, WitT, SRF, and TCSAR are requesting a donatable or refundable-upon-attendance $100.00 deposit from our swiftwater scholarship recipients. (Each course spot has a $325.00 value.) If you are selected to receive this scholarship, are you willing and able to render this $100.00 deposit to the underwriting organizations?
