Thank you for donating to Columbia Springs during these unprecedented times. Our staff is continuing to work hard to provide meaningful programs and activities to our community while staying safe in our homes.
What have we been doing?
Repair Clark County is working with volunteers, other local non-profits, and healthcare facilities to sew and distribute face masks. The majority of the masks are being distributed by A Caring Closet who gives medical equipment to those who can not afford it including senior homes.
Our Education Team, which includes our Onsite Education and Salmon in the Classroom Program Coordinators, our Education Program Assistant, 3 Environmental Educators, and 3 Education Interns, is working to produce high quality educational videos with activities to do at home. They are also working to create new activities for teachers to do pre and post field trips, searching for outside resources for you, and refining our current curriculum.
Our Events Program is working to switch to online webinars and remote events including a biweekly Climate Change Now workshop! We are working to increase our communication to the public to help keep everyone learning and having fun despite the difficult times we are going through.
Our Volunteer Program is working to engage our volunteers as well as create activities and programming for our Visitor Center. We are creating scavenger hunt walks and more for you to use once we are able to re-open our site.
What we need now is what all nonprofits will be struggling with which is financial support. Please give what you can to help us continue to preserve this unique site and provide education about science and nature for everyone.
