Mission

Collaborate, compile, and share open data for effective community-based decision making in Detroit.

Purpose

This site was created to address the issue of open data sharing among Detroit's civic tech, data, and mapping community. Numerous individuals and organizations are doing great work with data, but there isn't a place where all can come together to collaborate, share data, and foster transparency together.

Sustainability

DetroitData functions on a membership subscription model. 

Does your organization want to publish datasets to promote or improve transparency with reporting or outcomes? DetroitData is the place for you.

Do you gather large amounts of unique data through FOIA requests, but don’t have anywhere to put them afterwards? DetroitData is the perfect spot to share and collaborate on data.

DetroitData has two levels of access: Editor or Admin. An organization must choose one of the two levels. An optional add-on to join the Support tier is also available for each level.
