Enjoy the ride of your life with the Jackson Chance Foundation (JCF) on Saturday, August 17th & Sunday, August 18th! The Owl Ride for Jackson is a two-day 111-mile roundtrip bike ride from Chicago to Valparaiso, IN. Taking off from Chicago’s lakefront, the route serves up breathtaking views and scenic bike trails to Valparaiso. Day 1, bikers ride 55.5 miles, enjoy a complimentary dinner and an evening in Valpo, and then on day 2, ride another 55.5 miles back to Chicago. With a mix of rolling terrain and a few punchy climbs it offers something for cyclists of all abilities. A 1-day ride option is available. All riders are invited to enjoy a post ride celebration on Sunday including dinner, treats, and massages! 
Proceeds from Owl Ride for Jackson benefit JCF’s NICU Transportation Program which partners with Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital, Northwestern Prentice Women’s Hospital and Rush University Children’s Hospital to provide complimentary parking passes for families with critically ill babies in the NICU. Event Committee



  • Securing at least 2 new Owl Ride for Jackson sponsors
  • Recruiting 3-5 new riders to participate in the Owl Ride for Jackson
  • Assisting JCF staff in all event logistics (i.e route, rest stops, Team Chance Dinner, Post Ride Party, etc.)
  • Being the hands-on expert on the Owl Ride route; provide leadership to riders and enforce safety regulations
  • Tapping respective networks for potential donors of funds, time and/or in-kind support
  • Lead training rides throughout the training season
  • Participating as a group leader on day of event
  • Providing volunteer leadership to achieve the goals and objectives of the Owl Ride for Jackson
  • Reviewing all previous year fundraising activity and logistics and make recommendations for improvements for new year
  • Analyzing relationships with current and prospective sponsors and riders and develop individualized strategies to cultivate or strengthen those relationships to achieve $150,000+ fundraising goal
  • Monitoring & supporting fundraising efforts to be sure donors are being acknowledged and activating at ride appropriately
  • Attending and participating in event committee meetings
  • Riding in Owl Ride for Jackson on Saturday, August 17th & Sunday, August 18th
