Campaign Goal

Thanks to the support of fellow High County News readers, you have helped us raise over $7,700 towards the Van Arken campaign to date.

Overall, we have raised over a half of a million dollars since launching the campaign in October 2016. But we have a long way to go and need your support today!

We are working to conserve 1,600 acres in the headwaters of the Mattole (the entire Van Arken watershed and headwaters of neighboring McKee Creek). The total purchase price $9 million. Last year a local landowner came up with the idea of "funding an acre" for $5,500. This idea caught on quickly and many people have come forward to fund an acre, either all at once, or pledging to do so over the next 4 years ($1,375/year). We encourage you to do the same and reach out to your friends and family to become a part of the Fund an Acre Family. Every dollar helps!
