Facilities Use Guidelines
Thomas Dunn Learning Center (TDLC) assists the community by supporting activities, which are compatible with our mission. To facilitate and provide for the use and care of the building, grounds, and equipment, the following guidelines have been established:
Purpose:

These guidelines are intended to govern the use of the building, grounds, and equipment (facilities) of TDLC. Request for use of the facilities for a one-time event or on a regularly scheduled basis, must be made by filling out a Facilities Use Form, which will then be reviewed for approval.

Scheduling Procedure and Approval:

Review the following guidelines, complete the attached Facility Use Form and press submit. We require that you submit the Facility Use Form at least two weeks in advance of the date of intended use. You may not arrive before 8:00 AM, stay past 8:00 pm, and we will not approve any request to use our space during the weekend. The contact person listed on the application will be notified whether or not approval is given within three days.

Contact Person:

It will be the responsibility of the Contact Person listed on the Building Use Form to:

  • Make sure that the facilities are set-up for the activities.
  • Be responsible and certain that all TDLC’s guidelines are being followed.
  • Direct people in the proper disposal of waste (recycling, compost, trash).
  • Ensure that the facility is cleaned and returned to its original condition.
  • Communicate with Thomas Dunn Learning Center in the event of any changes. Be responsive to all communications coming from the Thomas Dunn Learning Center.

NOTE: New Security System Enabled

Our building is now equipped with a magnetic lock system that requires the use of a key fob to open the door from the outside.  From the inside, the door can be opened by a remote control or by physically opening the door.  Please keep this in mind, especially for events after 6pm, as YOU WILL NEED TO ASSIGN A DOOR PERSON TO RESPOND to members of your group coming to the building.  During business hours (10am to 6pm), there is typically a TDLC staff person at the front desk that can open the door.

*Ringing the bell will make a sound that can be heard down the hall, but not throughout the entire building.

Facilities Use Form
This form must be completed and approved before any activity will be formally scheduled. Events will be scheduled in the order in which this form is turned in. ALL GROUPS USING THE THOMAS DUNN LEARNING CENTER ( TDLC) FACILITIES ( BUILDING, EQUIPMENT, OR GROUNDS) MUST ADHERE TO THE FACILITIES USE GUIDELINES. Please keep a copy of the Facility Use Guidelines for your reference.

Optional Donation

A DONATION IS NOT REQUIRED TO USE OUR SPACE.  Thomas Dunn Learning Center is primarily a nonprofit community education center, with our own programs and a small staff. As a secondary service, we allow other organizations to use our space when it is available. We understand that all nonprofits are not funded equally and leave it to your discretion to donate what your budget allows. When determining your organization's donation, please keep in mind that the average overhead cost for an hour in our building is $214. Thank you.
