Facilities Use Guidelines
Thomas Dunn Learning Center (TDLC) assists the community by supporting activities, which are compatible with our mission. To facilitate and provide for the use and care of the building, grounds, and equipment, the following guidelines have been established:
Purpose:

These guidelines are intended to govern the use of the building, grounds, and equipment (facilities) of TDLC. Request for use of the facilities for a one-time event or on a regularly scheduled basis, must be made by filling out a Facilities Use Form, which will then be reviewed for approval.

Scheduling Procedure and Approval:

Review the following guidelines, complete the attached Facility Use Form, and submit that form to the TDLC office. If possible, please submit the Facility Use Form four weeks in advance of the date of intended use. The contact person listed on the application will be notified whether or not approval is given.

Contact Person:

It will be the responsibility of the Contact Person listed on the Building Use Form to:

  • Make sure that the facilities are set-up for the activities.
  • Be responsible and certain that all TDLC’s guidelines are being followed.
  • Ensure that the facility is cleaned and returned to original condition.
Value:

Thomas Dunn Learning Center works on a donation basis. We understand that all nonprofits are not funded equally and leave it to your discretion to donate what your budget allows. A market rate/actual cost schedule and/or a W9 is available on request.

More conditions to use our space:
  • Facilities are not available for use by for-profit-organizations for profit-generating activities, unless the activity provides measurable positive enrichment to the community.
  • Permission for use of the facilities is only granted for the times, dates, and specific areas approved. Any violations of the agreement may result in additional fees for repairs, usage, and/or custodial services.
  • All marketing material for your event/program will recognize the “Thomas Dunn Learning Center” name (logo if appropriate) in the address given or as host and/or partner organization.
  • Computer & Art Labs, Kitchen, Library, A/V equipment, WiFi, and film licensing may have individual usage guidelines.
    TDLC has a Sustainability Initiative; we appreciate your cooperation by recycling everything possible, avoiding non-recyclable styrofoam eating/drink items, plastic water bottles, and alerting your caterer/staff to use compostable and/or recyclable. Please check with TDLC staff for any specific guidelines.
  • Smoking, alcoholic beverages, and firearms are prohibited in the building and on the grounds. Permission for an event where alcohol is served responsibly may be granted.
  • No loud or inappropriate (offensive or profane to others) music/videos/computer use allowed while other groups or individuals are in the building (music camps may be an exception).
  • Thomas Dunn Learning Center reserves the right to deny facilities use at any time.

ALL GROUPS USING THE THOMAS DUNN LEARNING CENTER ( TDLC) FACILITIES ( BUILDING, EQUIPMENT, OR GROUNDS) MUST ADHERE TO THE FACILITIES USE GUIDELINES. Donation

Although we have no fee for using our building, we do greatly appreciate donations for the use of the space when it is within your organization's capacity to do so.

We have read the rules outlined in the Facilities Use Guidelines. By submitting this form we agree to the set rules and guidelines and any specialized guidelines. We will share these guidelines, at least verbally, with all in attendance. We accept responsibility for our activities and any damages that might be incurred.


WE AGREE TO INDEMNIFY, HOLD HARMLESS AND PROTECT THOMAS DUNN LEARNING CENTER (Thomas Dunn Memorials) FROM ANY AND ALL CLAIMS THAT ANY PERSON PARTICIPATING IN RENTERS USE OF THE FACILITIES MAY HAVE NOW OR IN THE FUTURE AS A RESULT OF ANY INJURY SUFFERED OR SUSTAINED BY RENTER OR ANY PERSON PARTICIPATING IN RENTERS USE OF THE FACILITIES FOR ANY REASON WHATSOEVER . As renters, we understand and agree that this indemnification is a contract and not just an idle statement to be dismissed by either party to the agreement.
