The Reclaim Our River: Nanticoke team invites you to the EcoPaddle on Broad Creek, which will be held on Saturday, June 22 (rain date is Sunday, June 23) at Roger C. Fisher Park in Laurel, DE. Join program partners for a guided morning paddle on a portion of tidal Broad Creek, enjoy lunch after, and learn more about local organizations and what we're doing in and on the Nanticoke. Rented boats will launch at 9AM, with Bring Your Own Boaters folowing at 10AM. Paddlers will return by 11:30AM to enjoy lunch and to learn more about the Reclaim Our River partnership. The event will wrap up by 12:30PM.
Broad Creek is one of the Nanticoke River's major creeks and boasts a rich natural and cultural history. As you paddle, you'll discover more about the flora and fauna and history of the area and its people. Aftewards, enjoy lunch and learn more about the ROR partnership.
Participants must be at least 8 years of age. All participants under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Rental kayak and canoe spaces are limited and available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Have your own kayak or canoe? Bring it and help us save limited rental boats for those in need.
Registration fees help cover the costs of food and equipment. Participants can request a refund and cancel their registration up to 72 hours before the paddleto allow us to contact someone on the waiting list. Otherwise, fees are non-refundable.
