2018 ConnecT1D Family Camp Volunteer Application

VOLUNTEER APPLICATION 

Thank you for your interest in being a Family Camp Volunteer! 

We have opportunities for the following volunteer positions:

  • Counselors in Training (CITs): ages 13-15
  • Counselors (ages 16-18/highschool)
  • Lead Counselors (post-highschool, 18+)  
  • Event Volunteers

CITs, Counselors, and Lead Counselors work in groups to oversee groups of children (ages 0-12)

Event Volunteers (there are just a few of these positions) assist with overall camp operations: registration, parent: speaker events, vendor fair, liason with kitchen)

Application Process

  • Applications to volunteer will be available until August 1st
  • All volunteers will be screened with a Washington State background check and notified of acceptance to volunteer by August 15th
  • All Volunteers must complete a volunteer training at camp beginning at 4pm Friday the weekend of camp

Volunteer Roles

Camp Counselors lead small groups of campers in activities such as ball games, craft, field games, team builders. Event Volunteers help with overall camp operations. Read more about Specific Camp Volunteer Jobs on our website.

Diabetes Experience

Note: You do not need to have diabetes to be a volunteer. No volunteers will be providing medical care to campers. All counselor volunteers will be trained in diabetes safety and monitoring of campers.

Registration Fees

There are no required fees to attend Family Camp as a volunteer. As an appreciation of your service we will provide group lodging, snacks, and all meals Saturday and Sunday. 

True costs for ConnecT1D per each volunteer are $175. Donations of any size help us recoup costs to provide scholarships and affordable costs for families who attend.

Optional Sweatshirt Purchase

Complimentary T-shirts are provided to volunteers free of charge, but you may also purchase a hooded sweatshirt. Order Here (note will pull up separate payment screen, must sumbit this page to complete registration)

To keep camp running smoothly and be able to easily identify camp staff as needed throughout the weekend, Camp Leadership will have a staff photo directory. Please upload a headshot with your application.
